2003 GRANT AWARDS IN THE ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT FUND
Arden Theatre Company, $60,000
PCMI funds will support the salary of a new staff position, Community Outreach and Group Sales Manager. Through this new position, the Arden Theatre seeks to increase its revenues through group sales as well as to upgrade customer service and continue to diversify its audiences.
Main Line Art Center, $52,500
PCMI funds will support the salary of a new staff position, Program Administrator. This position will be responsible for activities involving community outreach, scholarship programs, internship programs, collection and analysis of evaluation data, and scheduling.
Philadelphia Theatre Company, $60,000
PCMI funds will support the salary of a new staff position, Box Office Manager. This position will be responsible for establishing an in-house box-office with the goal of enabling organization to improve their level of sales and customer service, to more effectively track sales, to quantify the effectiveness of marketing and to upgrade their current online sales procedures and capabilities.
Philadelphia Zoo, $58,190
PCMI funds will support the consulting services of the TCC Group/Peter York, senior consultant to design an integrated approach to “measuring mission” and develop tools for implementation of the evaluation program. The project seeks to achieve: 1) staff acquisition of skills in evaluation and research; 2) development of tools and methodologies to assess mission effectiveness on an ongoing basis; 3) implementation of an organization-wide assessment and evaluation; 4) development of a long-range plan for evaluation; and 5) regional and national dissemination of the project.

PCMI funds will support the engagement of the Melior Group, a Philadelphia based market research firm, to conduct marketing research to help define and validate pricing and marketing strategies for the new home of the Museum at Memorial Hall in Fairmount Park. This research will enable the organization to: 1) develop a positioning statement, key benefits, and rationale; 2) determine a realistic pricing strategy; and 3) establish communication themes.
Preservation Alliance, $33,500
PCMI funds will support consulting services and implementation expenses related to membership development and retention; an increase in programmatic revenue streams; and reconfiguration of a corporate membership program.
University of Pennsylvania, Museum of Archeology & Anthropology, $30,000
PCMI funds will support a new program within its membership structure called the Expedition Circle with the goal of increasing membership and annual giving. The museum seeks to reach a membership in this program of 300 members within three years.
