People’s Light & Theatre Company:
$80, 000 over two years: Establishing a new position of Director of Audience Development.
The Director of Audience Development will be responsible for learning the communities from the inside, structuring opportunities for access to the theatre, and nurturing relationships once the communities begin attending. The position will allow the theatre to provide multiple opportunities for entry and access to audiences in three cities: Coatesville, Chester and West Chester. The theatre has had success with these communities through individual outreach projects, and now seeks to bring these communities to the theatre on a regular basis.
Point Breeze Performing Art Center: $80,000 over two years:
Creation of Human Resources Manager position.
The new staff position will increase the organization’s ability to meet its current HR needs, which have grown regularly over the past several years. The position will also allow the organization to better manage the major growth that is anticipated with the move to its new building and resulting program expansion, currently projected for the fall of 2004.
Philadelphia Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts:
$58,000 over two years: Hiring of an Education Director.
The Education Director will oversee the development of PVLA’s educational resources and programs under the umbrella of the newly formed Cultural Entrepreneurship Center. In addition, the Education Director will be responsible for the management of staff, the development of public programs, lawyer training/orientation, book purchases and sales, and book publishing.
Philadelphia Chamber Music Society: $35,000 over two years: Establish a new position of Development Director.
PCMS has relied on other staff members and a consultant working approximately 20% of the time. The creation of this position will allow the Director of Development to work in-house, half time. The Director of Development will report to the Executive Director and consult directly with other staff and members of the board. The establishment of this position will enable PCMS to sustain the present level of its programs and to meet strategic goals relating to programmatic, audience, administrative, and fiscal expansion.
Painted Bride Art Center: $80,000 over two years:
The hiring of a consultant to develop a new marketing plan and the hiring of a new part time position of Audience Development Coordinator.
The strategies developed by the consultant will help the Bride to increase community investment, membership and box office efficiency. The creation and implementation of these strategies will help the organization to become less reliant on contributed income, thereby contributing to the overall capacity of the organization.
