History
The Philadelphia Cultural Management Initiative (PCMI) was launched in October 2001 through a grant from The Pew Charitable Trusts to support the building of stronger arts and cultural institutions. PCMI, part of a portfolio of seven initiatives funded by the Trusts to serve Philadelphia's cultural community, offers a wide menu of programs and services addressing such areas as governance, human resources, evaluation, technology planning, financial management, fund development and strategic planning. Since PCMI’s launch, the initiative has awarded nearly $1.75 million in grants through the Professional Skills Development Fund and the Organizational Development Fund, presented a broad array of programming, provided opportunities for comprehensive assessment and collaborated with other local organizations and funders.
